The emerald Isle made the final picks for our honeymoon (late june-early july). I was along the coast of Northern Ireland the same time of year over ten years ago and it was chest-head high for 5 days straight. I wasn't able to surf then, but of course would like to this time (conditions permitting)
anyone had any luck on the other side of the pond?

I caught Bundoran in Donegal County overhead and perfect. Such a fun wave... flat rock reef, a-frames... amazing... vibe was cool too. I would definitely go back if I got the chance. They get consistant swell but the winds are an issue, it can be onshore alot of the time. Good Luck if you end up going

ireland is great. rent a car and see the west coast. some good surf in northern ireland as well. ballybunion, bundorran, lahinch, lots of potential everywhere. tides and wind are tricky and you need to be mobile. there were some rentals in lahinch. check out a pub called O'Looneys in lahinch. alot of surfers hang out there and you could get good info there. there was a surf club in rossnowlagh that had rentals? if its on, you need to surf easky bay. the left is like mundaca!! another great spot but a hell of a paddle is crab island near lahinch. ( i think the little town was doonlin?) left is like pipeline at 3 to 6' bigger is scarry! waterville is another town with lots of reef breaks. some nice hotels there. used to be a club med there? my favorite spot was inch. you could ride for like a half mile, then climb up to the road and hitch a ride back to the take off spot. ireland should be a great choice for you two!! enjoy

word..... getting stoked! Thanks a ton for all the info. The Mrs-to-be is pretty understanding ( yes, I know...we're not married yet) so if there's swell we should be able to get to where we need to be. If we get skunked I won't mind, but I'm a sucker for any kind of rock or point break so I've got my fingers crossed! you guys rock
