Guys,
Is it worth paying almost two hundred bucks to the airlines to take a shortrboard roundtrip to San Diego. Plus, I've heard some horror stories about chipped noses and cracked tails caused by the airlines. Or, is it better to travel light and rent a board if I'm there for two weeks. Or, buy a used board while I'm there then consign it to a shop ? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

depends who your flying. I'm going at the end of april for a week and i'm bringing mine. I wrap the nose and tail with a towel and pack my wetsuits around the rails. Been doing it for years and never had a problem.
