Just wondering what the surf is like is august. Also does it just rain non stop that time of year? and how far to walk from tam to playa grande?

don't want to rain on your parade---but tamarindo blows! overcrowded, over priced, dirty, and dangerous----my daughters room was broken in while she was in it! this is NOT costra rica! tam is jaco north! two places to avoid......do some more research before you go, there is lots of better places and waves there without the hassle

Just stay in grande. great waves, great people, affordable... cant beat it

k thanks for the heads up. I need to find somewhere with a little bit of night life as the girlfriend doesnt surf, still want decent waves though. Can you walk to tamarindo from grande at night or is it sketchy? anywhere else with night life and decent surf.
