yeah,.... kinda got to set the record straight on that PJ (who by the way didn't curse out his teacher, that was a joke) is one of the nicest 14yr olds I've ever met... far from a burn out, good head on his shoulders, great family, and probably works harder than anyone I know....

no disrespect to those featured, what you choose to do with your own time is your business. so whoever grouped everyone together as burnouts you will almost always get it wrong. people surf and enjoy sessions together. I don't think that the riders were at fault for being featured. personally i wouldn't want to be called a grom, but hey...

the truth speaks it though! pj is hard working with a great attitude. loves to surf and doesn't touch the devil's lettuce and did not yell at his history teacher and is not from new york. this thread got wacked up with garbage. he is in no way lumped with anyone, he is friends with everyone. just want to set the record straight in that regard.

anyway surfline messed this one up. garret and brendan are nice dudes in their own right, surf well, and i enjoy their company on the beach. they are familiar faces, and will crack you up if you give them the chance to start telling stories. rather than call them groms, a regular feature on maybe this past season might have been more appropriate as we did see some great swells.

The Jerz surf community should be stoked that some of the younger guys are getting exposure. When they featured the groms from Sa Clemente (Kolohe Andino and Co.) you didn't hear Nat Young of the crew north or south of them whining about it. The "crabs in a basket" menatlity is bad juju.

Masochist is right. Jersey is the red headed step son. Just be happy that Jerz has a whole gets some press. I'm just so sick of seeing kids 2000 miles away. With a grom that's in ESA and NSSA he loves surfing with all the kids from Jersey, North or South.

The bottom line is that everyone has to surf in the same conditions, and Britt won. Naturally everyone would like to surf overhead bowls, however that doesn;t always happen. The way some people whined about the event last year is exactly why Rip Curl is NOT coming back this year, after a 5-6 year run.
